The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) invites applications from academic and student experts for participation in expert panels. These panels conduct institutional and program evaluations in higher education institutions in Kosovo and provide recommendations for accreditation.
The accreditation process will be carried out throughout the entire year and includes both public and private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Republic of Kosovo.
Members of the external evaluation panels, among other things, must meet the following criteria:
– Be professionals in the relevant evaluation field with experience in quality assurance and accreditation processes;
– Hold a PhD degree. This requirement does not apply to student reviewers, for whom BA or MA qualifications are acceptable;
– Possess knowledge and experience in university-level teaching in the relevant field, except in the case of student reviewers;
– Have scientific publications in a relevant academic field;
– Have experience in managing and ensuring quality in higher education institutions;
– Have work experience within an organizational and administrative structure or knowledge of management systems;
– Have experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula;
Responsibilities according to the KAA Accreditation Manual include:
– Reviewing documentation submitted by HEIs prior to the site visit;
– Conducting the site visit to HEIs organized by KAA;
– Drafting an external review report after the site visit in accordance with KAA Standards;
– Finalizing the external review report and submitting a final recommendation for accreditation to the KAA Board.
The site visit to a higher education institution typically lasts one day, and in some cases may extend to two days depending on the size of the institution. The payment for each expert panel member is €1800, plus €100 per day for expenses and accommodation. For each student expert, the payment is €900, plus €100 per day for expenses and accommodation. Travel expenses are also covered by KAA. Final approval for the appointment of expert panel members is made by the State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the KAA.
