The Senior Officer for Evaluation and Monitoring at the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), Shkelzen Gërxhaliu, is staying in Dusseldorf, Germany as part of a staff exchange with the German counterpart agency, the Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Science Natural and Mathematics (ASIIN). The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) and the Rectorate of the University of Pristina on 16.05.2023 organized an information session regarding the standards and process for accreditation of academic programs, with participation of quality coordinators and programme holders from all academic units of the University of Prishtina. A delegation of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) was received in Bratislava by the leaders of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (SAAVS), with whom they discussed about cooperation in the field of quality in higher education, academic exchanges and the possibility of joint projects. The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) held its regular meeting on 14.04.2023, in which several items of the agenda were discussed. The General Director of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), Naim Gashi, received the Ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Mr. Antonello De Riu, with whom they discussed about the possibility of opening study programs in Italian language in higher education institutions in Kosovo. The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) participated in the conference organized in Brussels by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and the European Register for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (EQAR), where it was discussed about the cooperation at the European level of the six countries of the Western Balkans for enhancing the quality in higher education. The Government of Kosovo, in the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Albin Kurti, has re-elected Naim Gashi for a second four-year term in the position of General Director of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA). The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) has started the accreditation process for 2023, which is being conducted with the physical presence of international accreditation experts. Initially, international experts are conducting the evaluation process at the institutional level, to then continue with the accreditation process at the level of the study programs. On the first day of this process, the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj was evaluated, and the process will continue with other institutions of higher education.

The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (AKA), at its 108th meeting, which lasted three days, reviewed applications of higher education institutions for institutional accreditation, and accreditation and re-accreditation of study programs. Higher education institutions have been notified in writing by KAA about the decisions of the Council. In this meeting, SCQ also approved the list of international experts who will participate in the accreditation process. In addition, SCQ also approved the KAA Activities Plan for 2023, which derives from the KAA Strategic Plan. In this meeting, SCQ reviewed all the requests of HEIs.
