The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) held its 142nd regular meeting on October 8, 2025, during which several important issues related to accreditation processes and quality assurance in higher education in the Republic of Kosovo were reviewed. Among the key points of discussion were the review of several reports prepared by international accreditation experts, the assessment of new program accreditation applications, as well as applications that had been postponed from the previous meeting. The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), through its Division of Monitoring, has initiated the implementation of the monitoring process for the 2025/2026 academic year. During this period, the KAA team will conduct informative visits to all higher education institutions in the Republic of Kosovo, with the aim of familiarizing them with the monitoring process, in accordance with the new Regulation on Monitoring, which entered into force earlier this year. As part of October, recognized worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the staff of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) has joined the global awareness campaign by wearing pink ribbons — a symbol of support and solidarity with those affected by this disease. This symbolic gesture aims to convey a message about the importance of regular medical check-ups, prevention, and continuous education as essential steps in the fight against breast cancer. The Kosovo Accreditation Agency encourages all citizens to take care of their health and to support initiatives that promote awareness and prevention.

On 1 October 2025, the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), with the support of the SHER programme, organized a one-day workshop dedicated to finalizing the draft of the KAA Strategic Plan 2026–2030. The workshop aimed to engage the contributions of all relevant stakeholders in shaping this important strategic document, which will play a key role in enhancing the institutional performance of KAA and improving the overall quality of higher education in Kosovo. On September 30, 2025, the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) organized the third annual International Conference on Higher Education under the theme: “Internationalized Higher Education: Crossing Borders to Unite People.” More than 160 participants from European countries, the region, the United States, and Kosovo took part in panel discussions addressing the advantages and challenges of higher education internationalization. Key topics included the role of ENQA and EQAR in building bridges between higher education institutions through the implementation of European quality standards; transnational education; the impact of internationalization on quality assurance and national education systems; cross-border cooperation; and the contribution of the diaspora. On 10 September 2025, at the premises of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), the President of the State Council of Quality (SCQ), Prof. Hasnije Ilazi, and the Director General, Mr. Naim Gashi, received the Ambassador of Croatia to Kosovo, H.E. Danijela Barišić.
