Cristina Ghițulică Elected as the New President of ENQA

On October 23, 2025, the General Assembly of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) elected Cristina Ghițulică, Director of the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS), as the new President of ENQA.

The Director General of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), Naim Gashi, welcomed the election of President Ghițulică — a long-standing partner and friend of KAA — who had previously participated in KAA’s 2023 International Conference held in Prishtina.

The ENQA Assembly also elected two Vice Presidents: Patrick Van den Bosch (VLUHR QA) and Kristin Vinje (NOKUT).

On the sidelines of the ENQA Assembly, Director Gashi held a series of meetings with counterparts from various European countries including Germany, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Slovenia, Ireland, Belgium, Romania, and Hungary, as well as with representatives of ENQA and the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).

Special meetings were also held with EQAR President Stéphane Lauwick and EQAR Director Aleksandar Šušnjar.

President Lauwick congratulated Director Gashi on the successful registration of KAA in EQAR, emphasizing that Kosovo stands as a model of quality assurance in higher education within the Western Balkans region.

Director Gashi expressed his gratitude to President Lauwick and the EQAR Secretariat for recognizing the efforts of KAA and the entire Kosovo higher education system in implementing European quality assurance standards.
