KAA Delegation Welcomed at Rikkyo University and Meets Ambassador Kiçmari in Tokyo
On the eve of the General Assembly of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), taking place on May 12, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, a delegation from the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) was welcomed at Rikkyo University and paid an official visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Japan, where they were received by Ambassador Sabri Kiçmari.
The KAA delegation consisted of the President of the State Council of Quality (SCQ), Prof. Hasnije Ilazi; SCQ member, Prof. Gëzim Tosuni; Director General, Naim Gashi; Director of Monitoring and Post-Accreditation Procedures, Shkelzen Gërxhliu; and Officer for Post-Accreditation Procedures, Fjollë Ajeti.
At Rikkyo University, the delegation was hosted by the university’s President, Dr. Renta Nishihara, along with other senior representatives of the institution. The meeting focused on the exchange of experiences and best practices in quality assurance in higher education, as well as the potential involvement of Japanese experts in the evaluation of study programs at higher education institutions in Kosovo.
Rikkyo University, also known as Saint Paul’s University, is one of Japan’s most prestigious institutions, founded in 1874 by Anglican missionary Channing Moore Williams. It offers a broad range of academic programs in the fields of arts, social sciences, and economics, and maintains a strong presence of international students.
As part of the official visit, the KAA delegation also held a meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Tokyo, where they were welcomed by Ambassador Sabri Kiçmari.
The discussion centered on promoting the internationalization of Kosovo’s higher education system through active participation in major international conferences and forums, to enhance academic cooperation and foster global academic exchange.
