Kosova-Hungary: Memorandum of Cooperation Signed in the Field of Quality in Higher Education

During an official meeting in Budapest on October 16, 2024, the Director General of the Kosova Accreditation Agency (KAA), Naim Gashi, and the President of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB), Valéria Csépe, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of quality in higher education.

Director Gashi said that this Memorandum of Cooperation is a positive step towards enhancing quality in higher education and internationalization of Kosova’s education system.

President Csépe emphasized the significance of the Memorandum for ensuring quality in higher education, in line with the objectives of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), and expressed MAB’s willingness to support KAA in achieving its goals.

The agreement was signed as part of an official visit to Hungary by a Kosova delegation led by the President of the State Council of Quality, Professor Hasnije Ilazi.

Both agencies agreed to exchange information and provide professional advice regarding each other’s activities and processes, including higher education providers operating in each country and developments in their respective higher education systems.

KAA and MAB also committed to involving evaluators or specialists from each other’s systems to strengthen the international dimensions of their evaluation processes.

The two agencies further agreed to “collaborate on mutually agreed-upon projects and activities for the benefit of both parties, including external evaluations against specific professional standards, the development of procedures, regulations, trainings, seminars, workshops, staff mobility support, and research on issues related to quality assurance.”
