The University of Prizren and AKSP Accredited for Five Years
The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), at its meeting held on 23 February 2026, following a thorough review of the reports submitted by international experts, resolved to grant five-year accreditation to the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren and to the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (AKSP).
During the same session, the SCQ also examined several expert evaluation reports at the level of study programmes, issuing the corresponding decisions in accordance with the recommendations of the respective review panels. In addition, a decision of the Appeals Committee was taken under consideration.
Members of the SCQ further discussed the reassessment of expert applications for inclusion in evaluation panels, with a view to strengthening professional capacities and ensuring the highest standards in evaluation processes.
Under agenda items concerning policies and regulations, the Council was informed about the Implementation Plan of the KAA Strategy and decided to establish two working groups: one tasked with drafting the Regulation on the Accreditation of Joint and Double Degree Programmes, and another responsible for organising the KAA Conference 2026, scheduled to take place at the end of September.
It was also decided to set the date for the regular meeting with higher education institutions (HEIs).
The SCQ reviewed the report on informative visits conducted within the framework of monitoring higher education institutions, as part of the continuous quality assurance mechanisms.
In the context of completing the composition of the SCQ, discussions were held regarding the inclusion of industry representatives, as well as the launch of a public call for the Advisory Board of the KAA.
