SCQ visits the University of Peja, increased quality of higher education is a common goal
During a visit at the University of Peja “Haxhi Zeka”, the president of the State Council of Quality (SCQ), Professor Hasnije Ilazi, said that increasing the quality of higher education is a common goal of higher education institutions, the academic community and students.
The head of the SCQ said that to guarantee the quality of higher education, a methodology of monitoring and post-accreditation procedures has been developed, which will be approved by the end of this year, and will be applied from the beginning of next year.
The president Ilazi added that by meeting the criteria for regaining membership in the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), we are strengthening the internal capacity to develop the higher education sector through the external evaluation process.
The Rector of the University of Peja, Professor Armand Krasniqi, said that the criteria set by the Accreditation Agency have promoted increased quality in public universities. Rector Krasniqi said that the University of Peja will move towards profilization by eliminating programs that are similar to public universities.
During a meeting with students of this university, the director of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, Naim Gashi, informed them about a project with the US Embassy which aims to increase student participation in decision-making in all HEIs.
Students of the University of Peja have presented their ideas for the development of the higher education system.
