The State Council of Quality (SCQ) Approves the 2025 Activity Plan
On January 17, 2025, the State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) convened its 133rd meeting in Tirana, during which it reviewed and approved the 2025 Activity Plan. The meeting also addressed critical issues related to accreditation processes and quality assurance in higher education.
The SCQ meeting was attended by both local and international members of the SCQ, including the student member.
A key agenda item was the approval of the Joint Activity Plan between the KAA administration and the SCQ. This plan will serve as a roadmap for strategic and operational developments in quality assurance processes within higher education.
During the meeting, the Council also handled several institutional requests and reviewed appeals from higher education institutions, ensuring a transparent and objective decision-making process.
The Council examined expert reports on institutional accreditation and international expert reports on follow up and post-accreditation procedures. Additionally, it decided to establish an SCQ Advisory Subcommittee, as recommended by experts from the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). This Advisory Subcommittee aims to address challenges and requirements with greater efficiency.
This meeting marks a significant step toward strengthening international quality standards and integrating them into Kosovo’s higher education system.
