Kosovo Accreditation Agency’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan Officially Approved
The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), in its meeting held on 1 December 2025, approved the Strategic Plan of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency for the period 2026–2030.
This strategic document outlines the development trajectory of the external quality assurance system for the next five years in the Republic of Kosovo, clearly reflecting European standards, the national higher education context, and the vision for further strengthening the credibility and integrity of the accreditation system.
The Strategy is grounded in the principles of integrity, transparency, professionalism, and institutional independence—core values that continue to guide the work of both the KAA and the SCQ.
The 2026–2030 Strategy sets out four key development objectives: enhancing the professional and ethical capacities of the KAA; advancing quality assurance practices beyond compliance toward a genuine culture of continuous improvement; increasing the internationalization of the KAA’s work and strengthening its presence in European and global networks; and promoting a robust quality culture within higher education institutions.
The Strategy foresees the periodic revision of accreditation standards, the development of new procedures for joint programmes and micro-credentials, the full digitalization of accreditation processes, and the gradual integration of artificial intelligence into data processing and report-generation mechanisms.
Following official translation and final document design, the 2026–2030 Strategy will be published on the KAA website by the end of the week.
The drafting of the KAA Strategic Plan was supported by the SHER Programme, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
In its 143rd meeting, the SCQ also reviewed a number of additional agenda items, including several requests submitted by higher education institutions. Furthermore, the SCQ examined appeals filed by various institutions and considered the decisions of the Appeals Committee. Applications for international experts, the review of programme accreditation applications, as well as notifications and other operational matters, were also discussed.
