The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) is participating in the international conference “Future of the Academic Profession”, being held from 7 to 9 September 2026 at the University of Aveiro, Portugal.

The KAA is represented by Mr. Arianit Krasniqi, Director of the Department for Evaluation and Accreditation, in discussions addressing current developments and future challenges facing the academic profession and higher education.

As part of its engagement in this initiative, Kosovo will join the international Future-AP research consortium and participate in the related international survey, which brings together research teams from more than 40 countries. The initiative focuses on key aspects of the academic profession, including academic careers and working conditions, teaching and research, governance and academic freedom, as well as the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence on higher education.

Participation in the survey will provide valuable evidence on the academic profession in Kosovo and enable international comparative analysis. The findings will contribute to evidence-based policy development and may serve as a valuable resource for the further development of quality assurance and accreditation policies and practices in Kosovo, while supporting the country’s continued integration into the European Higher Education Area.
