The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) in its 95th meeting, held on 18.01.2022, has approved the list of international experts who will be involved in the process of accreditation of higher education institutions and their study programs. The Director of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), Naim Gashi, and the senior official Shkelzen Gërxhaliu, held on 16.12.2021, a meeting with the Director of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), Anna Gover and the Reviews Manager, Goran Dakovic. The topic of this discussion was the application of KAA for membership in ENQA. The December issue of the newsletter of the Central and Eastern Europe Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), presents the successful work of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) in finalising the implementation project for general digitisation of processes in the KAA. The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) in its 94th meeting, held on 21.12.2021, with the physical presence of all members, has reviewed and made decisions on all submitted applications for accreditation at the institutional and study program levels. In accordance with the legal provisions in force, the review of study program holders has been completed. All higher education institutions (HEIs) will be notified individually about SCQC decisions. During a visit to the University of Mitrovica "Isa Boletini" (UMIB) on 20.12.2021, the Head of the State Quality Council (SCQ), Professor Hasnije Ilazi, asked the institutions of higher education (HEIs) in Kosovo to create more plenty of space for new staff. On the proposal of the Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, in the meeting held on 10.12.2021, approved the Draft Law on the Kosovo Accreditation Agency. “This Draft Law regulates the status of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency as a regulatory agency in the processes and responsibilities of accreditation, re-accreditation, validation and monitoring, to ensure quality in higher education in the Republic of Kosovo. The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) and the Austrian counterpart Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation, with the support of the Heras Plus project, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) have launched the twinning project. This project increases the cooperation in the field of education between Kosovo and Austria. The main beneficiaries of this project will be the KAA and all stakeholders in higher education in Kosovo, including public universities and private colleges which have thousands of students and teaching staff. Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), with the support of two projects of the Austrian Development Agency: Heras Plus Project and QAINT has presented on 01.12.2021 for public discussion the Strategic Plan 2021-2025 and the Monitoring Methodology and Post-Accreditation Procedures. Until December 14, 2021, KAA will accept suggestions from all higher education institutions in the Republic of Kosovo.
