During the ENQA General Assembly, held at the 2024 Forum in Hanover, Germany, across three consecutive panels, Director General of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, Naim Gashi, presented the findings of the project on "The Role of Accreditation Agencies in the Internationalization of Higher Education in Europe." The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), in collaboration with American professor Christine Austin, has developed the document: Thematic Analysis of Processes Involved in Accrediting/Reaccrediting Study Programs: A Three-Year Review of Accreditation Processes for a Study Program (at both bachelor's and master's levels) at three public and three private institutions in the Republic of Kosovo. Following the approval by the State Council of Quality (SCQ), the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) on 29.03.2024 invites all stakeholders in higher education to provide their comments on the draft Accreditation Manual, which stems from the new Accreditation Standards approved last year. The State Council of Quality and the staff of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, on March 25th and 26th, 2024, conducted the workshop where they reviewed the new draft of the Accreditation Manual. The review of the existing Manual comes as a result of the approval of the revised accreditation standards last year. The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) held its 121st meeting on March 6, 2024. During this meeting, it was decided that the second International Conference of the KAA on the topic of quality enhancement in higher education will take place in Prishtina on September 24, 2024. The coordinator of this Conference from the SCQ is Professor Maja Martinovic, while Mr. Milot Hasanxhekaj has been appointed from the KAA administration. Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) delegation, on 6,7 and 8 March 2024, visited the institutions and stakeholders involved in the quality assurance (QA) of higher education in Helsinki and Tampere, Finland. The main purpose was to learn about good practice and discuss the experience in QA. Finland has had decades of tradition in quality enhancement of the research universities and universities of applied science through auditing and a range of other approaches. The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), on February 6th and 7th, 2024, convened its 120th meeting, during which it approved the Regulation for international accreditation experts. President of the State Council of Quality (SCQ) at the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, Professor Hasnije Ilazi, SCQ member Gëzim Tosuni, and KAA Director Naim Gashi conducted a meeting with the Conference of Rectors from public universities in Kosovo. Following approvals from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and Transfers, the General Director of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), Naim Gashi, signed, on January 23, 2024, the Regulation for the Systematization of Job Positions within KAA, along with the new organizational chart. The Appeals Committee of the Kosovo Agency for Accreditation (AKA), in the meeting held on January 5, 2024, approved the Working Regulation which is in accordance with the new Law of the KAA. The Chairman of the Appeals Committee, professor Ibish Mazreku, has said that based on the Law of the KAA, the competences, work and scope of the Committee have been clarified and this will positively affect the handling of all appeals.
