KAA Director met with representatives of the US Embassy in Pristina

The Director of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), Naim Gashi, was received by representatives of the Public Diplomacy Section, at the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, where the ongoing projects were discussed. During the meeting they talked about the importance of increasing the quality of higher education and connection of the education system with the labor market. Another topic of the meeting was importance of the institutional independence of the Accreditation Agency, transparency and accountability in order to strengthen development of the higher education system in Kosovo.

Professor Hasnije Ilazi was elected Chairperson of the SCQ

Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, the State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Republic of Kosovo, continued the constitutive meeting, where the new chairman was elected: Professor Hasnije Ilazi was elected Chairperson, while Professor Cassie Barnhardt Vice-Chairperson. According to the Administrative Instruction, the first constitutive meeting is chaired by the Minister of MESTI. The State Council of Quality consists of 9 members, 6 local and 3 international members.

On Thursday, the Kosovo Assembly ratified seven new members of the State Council of Quality (SCQ), which also is the Board of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA). The two current members of the SCQ: Prof. Ass. Dr. Dukagjin Zeka and Prof. Ass. Dr. Rozafa Koliqi are now joined by seven new members: Prof. Assoc. Dr. Cassie L. The implementing partner of the project, Kosovo United State Alumni (KUSA) engaged by the US Embassy in Pristina, on 21.09.2020 signed contracts with the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) and the implementing partner WUS Kosova, to finance two projects, in the amount of 65 thousand dollars, which aim to strengthen the institutional and technical capacity of the Accreditation Agency and meet the main criteria for regaining Kosovo's membership in the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
