The Monitoring Division has commenced the monitoring process for the 2026/2027 academic year, within the scope of its mandate and responsibilities for overseeing the implementation of quality standards in higher education institutions. Today, monitoring activities were conducted at “Haxhi Zeka” University in Peja, specifically at the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Agrobusiness. The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) successfully held its 4th Annual Conference on 29 September 2026 in Prishtina, under the theme “Internal Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutions: From Evaluation to Quality Culture”. The conference brought together representatives of higher education institutions, quality assurance agencies, European organizations, public institutions, students and other relevant stakeholders to exchange perspectives on how external evaluation and internal quality assurance can contribute to institutional learning, continuous improvement, accountability, and the development of a sustainable quality culture in higher education. The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) held its regular meeting on 28 September 2026, during which a number of important matters related to quality assurance in higher education in the Republic of Kosovo were addressed. During the meeting, the SCQ reviewed applications for institutional and study programme re/accreditation, as well as monitoring reports concerning higher education institutions. The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) is participating in the international conference “Future of the Academic Profession”, being held from 7 to 9 September 2026 at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. The annual academic staff declaration process on the Kosovo Accreditation Agency’s (KAA) E-Accreditation platform has been successfully completed, with a total of 2,960 academic staff members registered during the statutory declaration period. Pursuant to the Law on the KAA, academic staff from all higher education institutions are required to complete their annual declaration between 1 and 31 July. Following the modernization of the platform, academic staff are now required to upload only documents that have been updated or amended since the previous year, making the process faster and more efficient.
