The Accreditation Agency benefits from the United States project – USKEB
The United States-Kosovo Educational Exchange Board (USKEB) has confirmed to the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) that it has been accepted for funding the project “Drafting a Thematic Analysis for Study Programme Accreditation” through the Fulbright Specialist Program.
Under this project, an expert from the United States of America will assist the Accreditation Agency in developing a thematic analysis for the accreditation process at the level of study programs.
Thematic analysis is one of the criteria that KAA needs to fulfil at a substantial level. Point 3.4 of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area requires that “Agencies should regularly publish reports that describe and analyse the general findings of their external quality assurance activities.”
Of the 13 recommendations made by the previous ENQA assessment, KAA is recommended to “use data collected during accreditation processes and other activities to conduct thematic and systematic analyses to support further development of the higher education system in Kosovo.”
With the support of the U.S. Embassy, KAA developed the Methodology for Thematic Analyses in 2020. Based on this document, two thematic analyses were prepared: one for the labour market of graduates and the other for institutional accreditation.
The Accreditation Agency extends its gratitude to USKEB and the United States Embassy in Pristina for their continuous support in strengthening capacities for quality enhancement in higher education in Kosovo.
