The KAA Presents the Benefits of the ENQA Evaluation Process in Madrid
The leadership of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) participated in a seminar organized by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), where they presented Kosovo’s experience with the external evaluation process and its impact on enhancing the quality of higher education.
The seminar was hosted by the Spanish National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) and brought together representatives from ENQA, the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), and quality assurance agencies from across Europe.
The Kosovo delegation was represented by the President of the State Council of Quality (SCQ), Professor Hasnije Ilazi; KAA’s Director General, Naim Gashi; and the Director for Monitoring and Post-Accreditation Procedures, Shkelzen Gërxhaliu.
During their presentation, KAA representatives emphasized the broad national consensus in Kosovo on ensuring quality in higher education, highlighting that the ENQA evaluation process has served as a catalyst for policy improvements and the implementation of European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG).
They underscored that this process has helped KAA advance its evaluation procedures, strengthen transparency, and foster a culture of institutional accountability.
The event in Madrid aimed to provide valuable guidance for agencies preparing for an external review between spring 2025 and 2027. Participants discussed methodologies for comprehensive and targeted reviews, best practices in drafting self-assessment reports, and the importance of thorough preparation for the evaluation process.
KAA representatives regarded the seminar as a significant opportunity for exchanging experiences and strengthening collaboration with other European agencies to ensure the continuous advancement of quality in Kosovo’s higher education sector.
