The US Embassy finances two important projects for the Accreditation Agency
The implementing partner of the project, Kosovo United State Alumni (KUSA) engaged by the US Embassy in Pristina, on 21.09.2020 signed contracts with the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) and the implementing partner WUS Kosova, to finance two projects, in the amount of 65 thousand dollars, which aim to strengthen the institutional and technical capacity of the Accreditation Agency and meet the main criteria for regaining Kosovo’s membership in the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
On this occasion, the director of KAA, Naim Gashi, said that “with this and some other projects funded by the US Embassy and other partners, we are slowly fulfilling the criteria for the return of Kosovo to ENQA, which at the same time increases our institutional capacity for the development of and quality assurance in higher education”.
Gashi added that in addition to technical and financial support, the United States Embassy has supported the KAA in strengthening institutional independence, increasing transparency and institutional accountability.
The first project, funded by the US Embassy, targets the key criteria required by ENQA, including thematic analysis and methodology for its implementation, development of the internal quality assurance system, implementation of European Standards and Guidelines in higher education – ESG, establishing mechanisms for internal assessment of the KAA, staff training and collection of input from all stakeholders in higher education in Kosovo.
The second project is related to the development of the new KAA website, the creation of an electronic platform for issuing online certificates for accredited programs and the creation of a platform for reporting violation of accreditation standards.
