As part of the visits to higher education institutions, the State Council  op Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, visited AAB College on Thursday, in order to discuss issues related to quality standards in higher education. Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) and WUS Kosovo on Septemer 28 2021, held the Closing Virtual Conference of the project “Support Kosovo Accreditation Agency on achieving some of the ENQA's recommendations”, funded from the US Embassy in Pristina, through the University Support Grants Program and administered by Kosovo United States Alumni (KUSA). The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) in its meeting held on 21.09.2021, has analyzed the reports received from higher education institutions, including the overview of the holders of academic programs, regarding reaccreditation processes. The SCQ decided that from October 1, 2021, in addition to the criteria set out in the Administrative Instruction for Accreditation, program holders entering the accreditation process at the BA/BSc level must have at least 1 (one) scientific publication indexed from the field of study / program, while at the MA/MSc level they must have at least 2 (two) scientific publication from [...]

Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) started work on feasibility planning for the overall digitalization of processes in the Agency. With funding from the US Embassy in Prishtina this project is compiled by the American expert Dr. Trenia Walker. The State Council of Quality has delegated to contribute to this project, SCQ member and professor of Computer Science, Dr. Krenare Pireva Nuçi, while the coordinator from the KAA for this project is Mr. Flamur Abazaj. With this project, KAA will have at its disposal a general plan of digitalization of all its processes, which are expected to be implemented in practice in 2022.

The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) held on 09.09.2021 a workshop where the prepared draft of the three-year Strategic Plan of KAA was reviewed. The meeting was attended by the State Council of Quality, the Appeals Commission, representatives of the Heras Plus project and international expert Bastian Baumann. The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Republic of Kosovo in its meeting held on September 7th, 2021, decided to supplment the Basic Principles of the Accreditation Manual, respectively points 3, 4 and 5 have been added, while the accreditation standards at the level of programs and at the institutional level have remained the same. In point 3 of the general principles of the Accreditation Manual, the criteria for accreditation of General Medicine programs are supplemented. All students and graduates who need to obtain confirmations for the accreditation of their study programs can now get them online without having to physically visit the Kosovo Accreditation Agency. This project is funded by the US Embassy in Pristina, in the framework of supporting the capacity building of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency. This is a great achievement, because in addition to increasing the security of the issuance of documentation, and eliminating all possibilities for human error, this platform also increases the reliability of documents issued by the Kosovo Accreditation Agency to international partners. The Director of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), Naim Gashi, met with Mr. Stergios Tragoudas, Program Manager - Education and Human Resources Development at the EU Office in Pristina. During the meeting they discussed about the planned support to KAA under IPA 2020. Mr. Tragoudas said that in its last report the European Commission has evaluated the work of KAA very positively. They discussed about the planned support to KAA under IPA 2020, to strengthen the capacities of KAA and to fulfil the recommendations for regaining the membership in ENQA and EQAR.
