On 26 February 2026, a team from the Monitoring Division of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) conducted monitoring visits to the Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health study programmes at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Prishtina, as part of the ongoing assessment of the maintenance of quality criteria and the implementation of recommendations issued by international accreditation experts. The State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), at its meeting held on 23 February 2026, following a thorough review of the reports submitted by international experts, resolved to grant five-year accreditation to the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren and to the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (AKSP). The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) hosted an American evaluation panel from the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) of the United States of America, within the framework of the process for recognition as an accreditation authority by the United States. The Kosovo Accreditation Council (KAA) is currently undergoing evaluation to become a CHEA-recognized accrediting organization and a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the United States. The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) has approved the Professional Development Plan for its staff during a workshop organized with the aim of strengthening professional, technical, and organizational capacities for the three-year period 2026–2028. This strategic plan seeks to enhance the quality of staff performance through the development of professional competencies, the advanced use of KAA’s digital platforms, the strengthening of professional communication with higher education institutions (HEIs), and the alignment of practices with the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG 2015). On 12 December 2025, the Kosovo Accreditation Agency held an informative meeting on Post-Accreditation Procedures and the findings from the Implementation Plans for Recommendations. The meeting brought together approximately 150 representatives of higher education institutions, including institutional quality coordinators, program holders and heads of study programs, as well as other representatives directly involved in accreditation and post-accreditation processes.
