The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) has published on 06.08.2021 the list of accredited programs in higher education institutions in the Republic of Kosovo for the new academic year 2021/2022. The list of decisions with accredited programs includes the decisions of the State Council of Quality (SCQ) dated 27.07.2021, but also the programs that have had previous accreditation. On July 27th, 2021, the State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) held its 87th meeting. In accordance with the agenda for the meeting, SCQ reviewed all the reports of international experts for institutional and programme accreditation. The Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), for the second time in six months, also in July 2021, has introduced the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) as a success story in management of the accreditation process and quality assurance in higher education. The Director of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), Naim Gashi, was received by representatives of the Public Diplomacy Section, at the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, where the ongoing projects were discussed. During the meeting they talked about the importance of increasing the quality of higher education and connection of the education system with the labor market. Another topic of the meeting was importance of the institutional independence of the Accreditation Agency, transparency and accountability in order to strengthen development of the higher education system in Kosovo.

Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, the State Council of Quality (SCQ) of the Republic of Kosovo, continued the constitutive meeting, where the new chairman was elected: Professor Hasnije Ilazi was elected Chairperson, while Professor Cassie Barnhardt Vice-Chairperson. According to the Administrative Instruction, the first constitutive meeting is chaired by the Minister of MESTI. The State Council of Quality consists of 9 members, 6 local and 3 international members.

On behalf of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, the American Councils for International Education, Office in Kosovo, on Wednesday confirmed the decision of the United States-Kosovo Educational Exchange Board (USKEB) to approve the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) ’s request for a Fulbright Specialist. The American expert will contribute to the drafting of a detailed project for digitalization of the accreditation process in KAA. The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) today organized a one-day workshop to review the draft Regulation on internal organization and systematization of jobs in the KAA. The purpose of this Regulation, which is expected to be finalized very soon, is to determine the internal organization and systematization of jobs in the KAA, as well as the description of job duties for the positions which constitute its organizational structure.
